Becoming A Driving Instructor for A Pass 4 U 2
“Why would I want to join a driving school?” I hear you say.
Well it’s quite simple really you have all the backup you need from a family of likeminded people and whether it be help with a problem pupil, more pupils or simply someone meet up with for a cup of coffee the A Pass 4 U 2 team and instructors are ready to help. We can offer you:
- Back up from office staff
- Marketing materials
- Training events – all at cost price
- A supply of pupils
- Social events
- Technical help from experienced staff/instructors
All of this comes for free, yes that’s right nothing.
So how does it work? In short we are looking for likeminded, career driving instructors who can be part of a team to support each other and the school whilst providing a great service. The only cost to you would be a 1 off introductory fee for any pupils you may want. This is at a set rate as published on our website. You can be involved as much or as little as you want, no pressure either way. We have periodic instructor meetings which are attended by the office staff, instructors and owners where everyone can keep up to date with what’s going on in the industry and locally.
The owners of A Pass 4 U 2 have all been teaching for many years and come from different back grounds but the one thing they all agree on is that a driving school should be there for the benefit of the driving instructor and not just the pupil. A driving school should support its driving instructors and not just be a money making machine, although there are bills to be paid. Because of all of this A Pass 4 U 2 has a short instructor/driving school agreement to ensure everyone knows what is expected. You will find that it is not onerous and does not tie anyone in for long periods of time, in fact we only ask for 30 days’ notice. If you don’t want to be part of the A Pass 4 U 2 family then don’t be, simples!

Here are some FAQs that might answer some questions for you,
Q) So if I don’t take any pupils, I can benefit from being part of the driving school but won’t ever have to pay anything?
A) Apart from a deposit for your roof board and buying any stationery you might want, you will not have to pay anything, ever.
Q) If I leave do I have to give back all my pupils?
A) No, the pupils are yours. It wouldn’t be fair on you or the pupils if you all had to change.
Q) Can I display my own name on the car?
A) You must have an A Pass 4 U 2 roof board on display and cannot display another driving school name but you can put your name and mobile on the car.
Q) If I did take pupils and they didn’t start do I still need to pay for them?
A) Every driving instructor has had a pupil book in for their 1st lesson and when you go to pick them up they cancel or just don’t turn up. It would be unfair for us to charge you for this, so we don’t. We will however call the pupil to see why they didn’t start with us, as we want to run a great service so need feedback.
Q) Is A Pass 4 U 2 run like some schools who give all the good pupils to their mates?
A) Definitely not! To ensure there is no favouritism we use mobile telephone groups and text out each job to a group of ADi’s that cover that area. 1st one back gets the job. That way there can be no favouritism.
Q) So what are the periodic meetings about?
A) So that everyone can keep up to date with what’s going on locally and nationally as well as a bit of a social event we run periodic meetings over a cup of coffee. This gives us a chance to let you know what the DVSA are up to, what our local test centres are doing and for us to get ideas on what you want. It’s always good to meet up with people that understand what it is to be a driving instructor and get issues of your chest or just meet up with your mates for a chat.
Q) How do I join up?
A) That’s easy, just call our office and one of the management team will arrange a meeting to go through everything and sign a couple of documents. We will need a copy of your ADi badge and your driving licence number.
